I just want to have category titles and category images on the main page. Users will see the articles when they click on the category. How can I do that.

I want to only category shows on the home page.
Sample:
I create A, B, C categories. And i add every categories a feautured images. Home page show A, B, C categories will appear with the feautured image. User click a category show posts in this category.

The only way you can do it to make a single element for each category you want to display on your homepage, add the featured image for that category and also, the link for that category. Another alternative, in this case, does not exist, sorry! If is not what you mean, you can provide more details so I will be able to provide a more accurate response.
