Hello, I have been having an issue with Newspaper theme on 2 sites, SEScoops.com and MMANews.com.
On (every single) Page Load, there is a gray “Page Wipe” effect, from the left of the screen to the right of the screen. I upgraded to 9.5 hoping this would help, the problem persists.
I tried disabling plugins and could not figure out what is causing this error.
I set up a fresh install of 9.5 on a staging site, and did not have this issue.
Can someone please help me figure out what is going on ?
Minor Update: For now please see SEScoops.com only for this issue – we have not yet updated MMANews.com to 9.5. We were able to manually squash the “Screen Wipe” effect on MMANews, but that still has other issues on screen load. When we updated SEScoops to 9.5, the screen wipe issue returned.

Usually that effect come’s from some plugins, is your case I think is came from jetpack, please deactivate the jetpack plugin, clear all cache and try again.
I think jetpack have some settings for that effect.

The Gray Swipe effect is still happening.
It’s something to do with the theme’s SEARCH function.

I think that you have set to background colors, one in background and one in theme color -> https://www.screencast.com/t/Dn9cmJs0e0 -> https://www.screencast.com/t/jbjnTjCUm please remove one of theme, for example please remove the one from background, clear all cache and check again.

Calin, I had a Background Color and a Background Image set up on SEScoops and MMANews. At your advice, I disabled one of them (Background Image).
The problem is still occurring – and it is related to the SEARCH functionality.
I have a screen-record video and screenshots to give more detail on what is happening. What is the best way to end them?
When logged in to my WordPress account on the website, it seems to be fine.
When logged OUT, it’s doing the same thing as usual:
On every page load, the SEARCH field automatically pops up by itself and disappears. We were able to disable the “Gray Wipe Effect” – but this is somehow caused by the SEARCH function and it’s still acting up on every page view.

Please make sure that this is not a plugin conflict, please deactivate all non theme plugins, clear all cache and try again, also if you have set some custom code in theme panel please remove/comment it, and try again.
