Browsing from my desktop, I’m able to see thee AMP version of my site.
https://superluchas.com/roman-reigns-se-sincera-con-quienes-quieren-irse-de-wwe/amp/
But in my phone (iPhone), if I try to access an AMP page, I’m redirected to the standard mobile theme version of that very page.
Is that the expected behavior? (The docs said “Now AMP is integrated into the mobile theme plugin”, “The Mobile Theme plugin is AMP native”). That’s great!, but my questions are:
So.
Mobile theme and AMP are now the very same page?
Doesn’t this affect the search rankings?
Do I need to worry about the sudden spike in AMP errors (Google Search Console)?

Yappsss… I have no I idea what tagDiv means, when they are saying Mobile plugin + AMP good companion.
I have same issue… and they are saying just deactive Mobile theme and use AMP only. but that’s not the answer what we are looking for.
that Official AMP really ugly.. bad font, no share button, no comments display.
I’m going back to 9.5
Well, seems that we must turn OFF this option

Turning it ON breaks so many things (Disqus comments, etc)
But now my AMP pages are plain HTML, no styles
The previous theme version was way better.
I tried everything I can to make my blog looks good… Turn off “SHOW ON AMP” will remove Ads setting on mobile.
Google already gave me warning about AMP page… I don’t wanna lose google ranking.
Let’s go back to previous version.. next time, I don’t want to update ASAP if new version is coming.
Hello,
Please read this guide: https://tagdiv.com/amp-newspaper-theme/
You cna no longer test the amp page on desktop addin /amp or ?amp
You have to use the amp validator.
Without the mobile theme, there will be no specific theme style for amp. AMP now works through the mobile theme in order to have the theme style and all of the mobile theme options in amp.
The initial AMP plugin we released was designed based on the first version of the official AMP plugin for WordPress. Even though it was a tagDiv plugin, it still required the API of the official plugin. The changes came from the official plugin as they limited the theme support in the version we used and instead of updating it, they launched a new version with another, better implementation. They also announced the initial release will shortly become deprecated. This is why we decided to abandon our initial AMP plugin and use the new AMP implementation through the mobile theme. The new version required a specific theme for it as it would not have worked through the standard theme. There was no decision to take, unfortunately. If we have not made this step, soon the AMP plugin would have stopped working once the official AMP plugin implementation we used became deprecated.
Thank you!
Hello Bogdan,
with SHOW ON AMP turn on on mobile plugin url/amp/ are redirected to normal url.
I understand it’s correct according to what you said…
But Making test https://search.google.com/test/amp
Putting articles url/amp/ it show
Invalid AMP page
Invalid AMP pages will not have the specific functions of the AMP pages in the Google search results.
Solve the following problem
Validation issues
1 instance Line 20:2421
The tag “noscript enclosure for boilerplate” appears more than once in the document.
<noscript><style amp-boilerplate>body{-webkit-animation:n
——————————————–
1 instance Line 20:1702
The main tag related to the “style amp-custom” tag is “noscript”, however it can only be “head”.
<style type=”text/css”>.wpb_animate_when_almost_visible {
Please solve… thanks..
Dear Bogdan, we understand your explanation, but the results are there; SHOW ON AMP is useless (unless you want to lose search ranking), yes, you can turn it OFF, but then you have other issues.
My traffic is already 60% mobile (I’m pretty sure most in this forum have similar numbers), so I need a theme with a good to great mobile versión, the current version of your theme is not.
Please, let us know if you acknowledge this situation.
I think there is also regarde the tag <link> in desktop template.
I have :
<link rel=”amphtml” href=”https://mydomain/slug/amp/”>
it should be
<link rel=”amphtml” href=”https://mydomain/slug/”>
as described in amp plugin settings page :
Native: Reuses active theme’s templates to display AMP responses but does not use separate URLs for AMP. This means your site is AMP-first and your canonical URLs are AMP.
Regards
Hi,
@Bintmusic To test if AMP works and is valid please use the AMP validation tool
– https://search.google.com/test/amp
In this tool enter the URL with /amp. Or test with this tool
– https://validator.ampproject.org/
@jorgeocampo We understand that the mobile plugin is somewhat limited. Now that this integration between the official AMP plugin and the mobile theme has been made, we will add more settings and options for it in the future.
As a note, we do not force users to use AMP + mobile theme, there are other ways to have AMP on the website, by using different plugins for example.
@mazougagh It is the same when using a default WordPress theme and the AMP plugin, so this works as it is intended to – http://prntscr.com/mwrqox
Thanks
Hi Simion,
I followed everything in instruction but the new plugin with amp does not work right.
In this way, like many other users, I detect problems with the test amp https://search.google.com/test/amp
The only way to get the amp pages is to exclude SHOW ON AMP in the mobile theme settings getting a horrible amp page without style css. But currently this is the only possible choice to not have problem with google webmaster with amp articles.
Please solve with an update, thanks.
You are saying to google that the amp url is: https://mydomain/slug/amp/”
In fact, you should say to google the amp url is: https://mydomain/slug/
it’s why there are a lot of users that have errors in https://search.google.com/test/amp
…following all the instructions, unfortunately I also get errors with https://mydomain/slug/ tested in https://search.google.com/test/amp
Hello, i think that I have the same problem.
When I visit my site (www.espalia24.eu) with an Iphone, I see just an horrible site without the theme that I have worked in TagDiv Composer, mobile section.
If in my Iphone I select on “show desktop version”, then I can see the “mobile version” designed in TagDiv Compoder!
But this should happen automatically, right? I mean, the theme should detect a connection from a mobile device and should show the mobile theme, right?
Thank you, Borja
I regret getting this theme. There’s no page layout when the AMP works.
There will be some changes in a coming theme update to how the AMP and mobile theme works.
All with problems in the matter can send us an email at contact@tagdiv.com and provide admin login so we can investigate. Mention as many details about the issue as possible. If we identify problems we will fix them. Sorry for the inconvenience.
Thank you Simion, we’ll be looking forward to it.
BTW, I know that you Disqus is not a top priority, but please, take a look, it’s an AMP compatible plugin that’s also a MUST for any solid-traffic news site
https://blog.disqus.com/disqus-now-compatible-with-google-amp
Best.
