WordPress has a great built in gallery feature now, works with all themes, which you can find here:
http://codex.wordpress.org/The_WordPress_Gallery
This theme comes with a nifty gallery with thumnails, like here:https://forum.tagdiv.com/gallery/

Yes, the tiled gallery from jetpack should work fine, I have tested this and found no issues.
