Primary Post Category

Hi,

My client has a site that uses a different theme for her site https://www.westislandblog.com/ and we are switching over to newspaper theme. https://www.westislandblog.com/newspapertheme we are in development on that https://www.westislandblog.com/newspapertheme area to get things all working as the client wants.

I’m setting up her adzones, which are dependent on primary category of the post, and noticed something that didn’t come over when i switched up the theme, in that i had selected a primary category for each post, that somehow got lost when i activated your theme. Is there a way i can retain those primary categories? we have over 2000 posts, so it’s going to be a nightmare to redo them.

Hi,

Unfortunately the primary category differs from a theme to another, so in the most cases when you switch themes, those will not work, if WordPress had this option, then the primary category would have worked from one theme to another.
