I understand one of the reasons for Amp and Mobile are for a faster site which leads to more views and a stronger worth to advertisers. However, is there a way to use our own ad inserter plugin rather than what is provided in the theme panel?

Hi,
If you want to have some control over your Ads in mobile, you need to use the Mobile theme, Mobile Ads. Otherwise, the theme does not have any such an option for this case, sorry!
