Is there a “getting to grips with the basics” tutorial?
How do I populate a tagDivi composed page with page content from a previously published different themes default template based page?
So, If i create a page layout with TG Composer by dragging the row over -> selecting the row tab -> selecting the 3 column layout (1/4 + 1/2 + 1/4)…
can I populate the centre column with an old page’s content? How?
OR
How do I reformat the original page’s layout and get the content to populate the centre column if i choose to edit the page with TG Composer.
Cheers
Hello,
Here is a basic guide on how to use the tagdiv composer: https://tagdiv.com/tagdiv-composer-page-builder-basics/
If you need more details, please check the other guides on the composer as they bring valuable information on the functionality of the page builder:
https://tagdiv.com/category/documentation/tagdiv-composer/
If you have a page created with another page builder, unfortunately you will not be able to import the content directly in the tagdiv composer. The page will need to be re-created with tagdiv composer elements.
use the “column text” element for simple text, images, or third party shortcodes.
Thank you!
Many thanks.
That involves a lot of work as my previous twentytwelve based WP site was very content rich (with a lot of pages) and I was expecting to be able to simply tweak the pages to to fit a new layout. Your “column text” comment has cleared up a lot of confusion.
I guess i am going to have to re-create every page in TD, copy each of my pages and paste (as text) into a column text element.
I am getting the following message “The current content has not been created by TagDivi Composer”.
The theme is great and is probably ideal for sites being built from scratch – I probably would not have bought it if I’d known the implications of converting an established WP website.
Now I understand why web designers/developers that I’ve contacted (that use Newspaper) Were insisting on charging by the page… Knowing how WP works it didn’t make sense, It does now!
Also..
I am experiencing an issue that other users have previously reported in that The WP Editor does not start up, it just hangs at startup.
I have increased WP_MEMORY_LIMIT to 256mb.
The php version 7-7.2 is set
But I get an internal server error if I put the following in my .htaccess:
<IfModule mod_substitute.c>
SubstituteMaxLineLength 10M
</IfModule>
Any suggestions
Hi,
If the problem is still there, please send us an email at contact@tagdiv.com with your log-in information (wp-admin) so we can further investigate it closer your setup page. Provide there the link of this topic so we can quickly identify you. Also, provide the CPanel access for more deeper investigations. You can provide there some useful screenshots with your errors so I will be able to identify them and also, so I will be able to provide a more accurate response.
Thank you!
This is not an issue with Newspaper – It works on the actual server but does not work on my local drive running the (Mac) MAMP Apache simulated server.
I can live with that, although it’s not ideal as Id prefer to be able to design and experiment with the site locally (off-line) prior to running it on the actual server.
But if there is anyone out there that has come across the same issue with MAMP and managed to resolve it, Id appreciate the solution.
Thanks
