My first question concerns the Newspaper built-in “Related Articles” functionality. Is there a way to make the posts that are fetched more accurate to the article that they are below? There is only the option to select between “Categories” or “Tags”, but either option results in articles that are not similar to the post they are associated with. There are some other Related Post plugins which fetch more information such as words in a headline or combining tags and categories for more accurate, similar posts. Is this something that Newspaper’s option can achieve, or is that something that would need to be added later?
My second question relates to this picture and the position:

The “Related Articles” by Newspaper is where I want it: completely after the post (so after the pagination, tags, and previous/next articles). But if I want to use my other “Related Posts” plugin, it goes above the pagination. What CSS would let me displace the position of this plugin’s widget to the same position as Newspaper’s “Related Articles”?
Or, relatedly, is there a way to force the pagination through a page break in a post to go immediately underneath the written post content?
About the first question, I think you can go to appearance_widget and add one of the TagDiv Blocks on the right, then you can select under General and Filter your preferences (there’s also TAG SLUG, they should select the posts containing your specific words, if I’m not wrong).
I’m not sure if I’m misunderstanding, but what I specifically want is for the “Related Articles” to be automatically inserted below a post, but for the selection of those articles to be more accurate than they are right now. I wouldn’t want it to be the same posts for every article. I’m not sure if I’d be able to achieve that with the widget selection.
The plugin I use does this, for example, since it has better filtering.
I’ve tried for years on this theme, but the Related Articles doesn’t really filter so well. I wound up using Inline Related Posts which filters perfectly plus it places related articles into the body of your posts rather than just at the end.
has anyone got Newspaper’s related articles to show posts that are related yet?? The ones that show up for me are awful, and pretty similar in every post, even though they should be looking at tags. Why does this function not take into account post titles and or post content too when finding related articles to show?? Any help is greatly appreciated. -A
