Hi,

There is set a background image not color, you need to set one image or remove it ( https://www.screencast.com/t/t4KYbWgusrxv ).

For the second one please insert this custom css in Newspaper> theme panel? custom code> custom css :
.td-craft-ideas .td-module-comments a {
background-color: red;
}

You can change the red color.
