Just wondering if the category IDs that you choose to show in the ajax categories dropdown section of a box/flex box can be shown in order of latest posts instead of alphabetical order.
I have a lot of categories I want to include in the flex box but I only want the categories with latest posts to show in the top menu of the box (ajax dropdown). I don’t want the categories to show in alphabetical order.

I understand about filtering and working with the blocks, but that’s not my question.
My question is: can the ajax menu across the top of a block be set to show the categories with latest posts?
Example: When I input specific category IDs into the filter, those categories then appear in order along the ajax menu. But I don’t want them to appear in the order I have input them. Instead I want them to appear in order of what categories have latest posts. And I want that ajax menu to automatically change the order of categories in relation to which categories have just published a latest post.
