I tried searching the forums, but did not see anything that answers my question.
I’m trying to remove the Facebook and Twitter share buttons that appear at the bottom of all my pages and posts. I think they don’t belong on most pages, and they are redundant on the posts since there are other share buttons. And for some reason they are duplicated above and below the footer on some pages.

Go to theme panel, post setting, sharing and then deselect.
Thank you for the quick response, but I’ve already deselected the option for bottom article sharing, seen here:

But those buttons remain. I tried deselecting top article sharing just to see what would happen, and it got rid of the buttons I do want to keep which are right below the article title.

Most likely, you have a strong caching plugin and that’s why your sharing buttons are there if you have disabled them from the panel. Please clear all the caches, purge CDN files and check the results.

I cleared my browser’s cache and it did not help. Then I spent some time Googling how to “purge CDN” — and although I don’t think my site has any CDN plugins(?) right now, I did stumble into the settings for Jetpack, which had options to turn off those sharing buttons. So now it’s fixed!
