Hello, We have hundreds of posts across multiple sites that use featured videos from facebook that no longer have the video visible in the post. The links and videos all still work and an iframe still works. These posts were all working until yesterday. Youtube videos still work as featured videos. Can someone please advise why the facebook featured videos are no longer working?

Please provide your website URL so I will be able to provide a more accurate response. Remove all of the untested plugins, clear all the caches, purge CDN files and check the results.

Hi Catalin, nothing has changed on the sites, no updates to plugins or wordpress. I have also tested with clean site with only minimum plugins and it’s still a problem. In your previous reply to my other post you said there’s a change to the facebook API, can you please confirm if you can create a post with a facebook featured video and it works?
Hi, Is there any work around to make posts that were made using featured facebook videos without manually going in and adding the iframe? Is there any date for a fix so the featured facebook videos work again? Thank you.

There is indeed a problem with Facebook featured videos, seems there were some changes made on their part. While the video will appear in the post page as featured, there will be no thumb created to display in modules.
So a thumbnail will have to be set manually when Facebook featured videos are used, for the time being. YouTube works same as before.
We will try to fix this issue, as soon as a solution is found. If you have more questions let us know.

Hi Simion, thanks for replying. The issue we are seeing is that the video is not appearing in the post (we are aware of the thumbnail issue). Can you confirm that when you create a post with a facebook featured video that the post does display the video?
There is actually a problem with *all* Facebook embeds which started this past week, as we have a report dashboard for clients where we paste in the URL for FB posts to show them how we share their content; those also stopped working, and it’s not theme related in any way. Twitter embeds work.
It’s almost like FB ‘broke’ all their embeds for simply pasting a link to something into a WP WYSIWYG box in WP post editor and/or a custom field, like with ACS PRO.
So — it’s NOT theme related; we’re seeing broken FB elements “everywhere” this week.
