Login modal doesn't work properly with custom login url

Hope you’re all well.

Interesting issue. I like the login modal window for logging in. It looks good and is responsive.

I decided to change the default WP login to a custom url to deter automatic login attempts from bad actors.

When I did this all seemed to be well except when using Safari. On Safari I can login and logout using the modal but once logged out clicking login again does nothing. There is no reaction.

The issue doesn’t seem to be happening with Chrome or Firefox.

Really interestingly when I use the Developer menu in Safari and set the User Agent as Chrome the login modal works fine.

If I remove the custom login url and go back to the default all works fine.

Any idea what this could be? I’d like to continue to use the modal if there is any way.

Thanks for the links. Not quite the problem I’m having. It’s that with the redirection in place the login modal – pop-up window – doesn’t activate in Safari after the first time. It’s fine in other browsers.

Any idea what would prevent it from opening?
