I wonder where I can change the font size of code snippets? I couldn’t find anything in the Typography settings of the Theme Panel. Thanks.

Unfortunately there is no option in theme panel to change the font size for code, but this can be achieve using custom css -> https://tagdiv.com/how-to-create-custom-code-in-newspaper-theme/

Thanks, Calin. I eventually found a plugin which does the job very nicely without too much overhead (https://gehrcke.de/wp-geshi-highlight-demo/).
The only issue that I have is the “&” is being replaced by “&” which seems to be a Gutenberg issue (https://wordpress.org/support/topic/ampersand-character/). If anyone knows an answer to that, I love to know!
