Schema issues

We’re having trouble getting our site crawled properly by Google and its various bots. One possible cause we found is that in our source code, we have a duplicate Schema markup, one created by Yoast, and one created by an unknown app or plugin or something in our theme, which is broken.

If you go to a page like: https://grandstandcentral.com/2019/sports/basketball/jason-kidd-hiring-nba-failure-domestic-violence/

And look through the source code, you’ll notice that there are two Schema markups in the code. One made by Yoast, and another made by an unknown plugin or function.

The broken one keeps returning a broken headline (it’s pulling the subtitle as the headline)

Any suggestion?

Hi,

The theme contains the necessary markup for the article schema. Maybe remove it and test again – https://search.google.com/structured-data/testing-tool/u/0/.

Thanks.

How would I go about removing/editing the theme’s schema? Sorry, super noobie here, just want to make sure I’m looking/editing in the right place.

Hi,

The schema is coded in the theme files, for example

If you are using Newspaper v9.7 please check in wp-content/plugins/td-composer/legacy/common/wp_booster/td_module_single_base.php -> https://www.screencast.com/t/WDonotrZ

Thanks.
