Hello,
Does this theme affect WordPress updates? I have been having a problem when updating WordPress since I installed the theme – it stops at ‘Unpacking the update’.

Hi
There was no reports about this problem between Newspaper and WordPress Updates, please make sure that you do not have a plugin conflict, please deactivate all non theme plugins, also if you are using child theme or cache plugin, please deactivate them, clear all cache and try again.
