When you add the code and later back to the theme panel I see an empty box? its normal?

Hi,
Not sure what you mean I have check the analytics filed using the latest theme version(1.2) and seems to work fine.
Please make sure that you updated your theme to the latest version(1.2) which as released today and check again. If you still have issues with this please make sure you check this without any plugins active and also empty your cache files.
