Almost there…
So, I have this white band below the header…

Hi,
I see the website like this at the moment – http://prntscr.com/o0ui2c it’s not as in the screenshot. If you want a black overall background color, you could install the black demo
– https://demo.tagdiv.com/newspaper_black/
This will load the CSS necessary for the black background colors.
