Extend length of main post area

Hello,

I just wanted to extend the length area of the main post. I wanted to add a 728×90 ad under it as I noticed that size worked the best with the Newspaper theme. See: http://i.imgur.com/mnCT7uP.png

Is there a simple solution, or do I need to do a lot of coding?

I assume you mean the width, not the length/height? Simplest way would be to have a 2-column wide boxed area below the two content columns, and above the footer area.

I’d love to see this added as another ad space at some point, actually.

Obviously you can’t widen the post area to that width, as it would break the layout unless you use a full width layout without a sidebar.

Hi,

Thanks Christopher unfortunately you are right, as changing the content’s width would break the layout so it is not recommended so the only way to have a wide ad there is to set the page to full width, without sidebar or edit the post template files and add it directly there using the do_shortcode function and the shortcode for the ad box.
I will also add this on our feature request list and consider it for future updates.
