What is the proper way to lock an article in the top grid?
It could be “breaking news” or articles of special interest etc.
It is important to be able to lock an article to the top grid so it doesn’t lose it’s place when new articles are published.

You can achieve that by setting the blocks filter. Each block has a filter, you can add only the posts you want in that block using the tag slug as you can see here: https://www.screencast.com/t/rcsz7rHwR4

If I understand you correctly that means that we would have to apply a special tag for each article such as “top news” or “breaking”?

Yeah, That was definitely not what I was looking for. I am looking for a solution that will easily let us decide and change the articles listed in the top grid. The solution you described is very tedious, and definitely not suitable for a flexible and quick news site. What other options do you offer?

Unfortunately the only way to “lock” something in a block is by setting the filters of that block. There is no other way to have the articles locked or to change them.
