Add extra custom font family to Typekit

Hi TagDiv,

I would like to add an extra custom font family under Typekit.com – is that possible?

I’m using Adobe Fonts and adding them via the javascript code (Theme Panel > Theme Fonts > Typekit.com Fonts)
– using the three custom font family options to make the fonts available when customising modules and blocks.

However, I need more options than the three already available. Can you help me?

Thank you.

Hello !

All the options available for font customization can be found in our tutorial here: https://forum.tagdiv.com/font-customization/

Thank you !

Hi Vlad,

I’m using Adobe Fonts – so unfortunately I can’t use custom fonts files. And as far as I can tell the only way to use Adobe Fonts is to add them via “Typekit.com Fonts” option in Theme Fonts.

When using the “Typekit.com Fonts” option there are only three slots to specify custom font families available. I would like to add more.

Is there a way to do that?

Hello !

From Newspaper 9.8 there are 5 Custom font tabs. You can update to 9.8 and benefit from them. At the moment adding any more will require modifications in the code.

Thank you !

Hi Vlad,

I’m already on Newspaper 9.8. And as far as I can tell the 5 options are only available under “Custom font files” – which I cannot use with Adobe Fonts.

I’m using “Typekit.com Fonts” – but this method only provides 3 options for adding custom font families, and would like to have more options.

Could you point me to the files I need to modify to add extra custom font families to “Typekit.com Fonts” (e.g. ‘Custom Font Family 4’ etc.)?

Thanks in advance!

Hello,

You can set more custom fonts using the link of style, like this -> -> http://prntscr.com/owew8g -> http://prntscr.com/owew1t
Get Started with the Google Fonts API -> https://developers.google.com/fonts/docs/getting_started#Subsets

Hope this will help you!

Hi Calin,

Thanks for you suggestion.

As I told Vlad I’m using Adobe Fonts via “Typekit.com Fonts” – and I can’t seem to get the method you suggested to work with Adobe Fonts. The font does not appear in the font list when trying to style elements through TagDiv Composer.

I’ve been able to get it to work by adding the relevant Adobe Fonts to the font_stack_list in td_fonts.php – but I’m guessing that’s not the best solution. Would it be possible to include the changes to td_fonts.php as part of a child theme?

Thanks!

Hello,

Unfortunately for the moment the td_fonts.php can not be set in child theme, sorry for the inconvenience!

Thank you for your understanding!
