I messed something up so I used a backup of my website (one of those automatic backups that my hosting companies stores) and somehow all the theme settings are gone! I have no idea how this could happen, it’s a full backup and everything should be saved. Right? Any ideas?

The files are all over the theme. There is no “save” file. We have clients who lost their website due to different reasons but they all simply reinstalled the backup and everything was fine.
