I am using a child theme, so is the update process different? Can I just upload files from folder patch_9.8_10 via ftp or I must delete the whole Newspaper folder and upload all the files again?

Hello !
You will have to upload by removing the old files and uploading the new ones, same for the child theme. Also in order to use child theme please follow our tutorial: https://forum.tagdiv.com/the-child-theme-support-tutorial/
