Responsive Header Ad?

On desktop, is there a way for Google Adsense to decide which header ad should load? The reason I ask is that right now if you select Theme Panel > Ads > Header Ad > “Auto” for Desktop, it will display a 728 x 90 ad. If you select “970 x 250,” for example, it will only display the 970 x 250 ad all the time and doesn’t serve 728 x 90 ads on desktop.

Is there any way for Adsense to decide which banner should load without us forcing one or the other?

Hello !

if you leave it on AUTO and your AMP Auto ads are enabled then google will decide what size the ads will be depending on page size. Find out more about it here: https://support.google.com/adsense/answer/9011465?hl=ro

Thank you!

That is all enabled, but I’m talking about Desktop, not mobile. Do you have an English version of that link at Google?

That doesn’t answer my question though. I’m talking about Desktop, not mobile/amp pages.

Hello !

Sorry for misunderstanding. By default google has predefined sizes for banners, if you leave your settings on auto, google will pull the 728×90 banner because that is the size set by them, and we comply to that, if you change the size from theme panel then you force google to pull the size specified by you.

I hope this was more helpful !

Thank you !
