Footer Year issue

Hi,
I’m having issues with the footer. ##year## outputs ##year## not the actual year. So I made a shortcode [year]…it outputs [year] again…so I decided to use basic js (document.write(new Date().getFullYear());) and it reloads the page writing the year but I’m then locked and can’t save anyway. There’s got to be an easy way to write the year in the footer right? When I don’t use a page template ##year## works just fine. It doesn’t in the template.

Hi,

I’ve just make a quick check and if you set the text in copyright like this
Copyright 2015-##year## Inked Angels. Handcrafted by -> https://i.imgur.com/4yU4SWe.png it will be display like this -> https://i.imgur.com/oLMiNia.png just make sure that you do not have a plugin that interfere with the theme, please deactivate all plugins that do not have the word “tagDiv” and try again.

Let me know the results!
Thank you!

Like I said it WORKS in the settings. it does NOT work in templates using ##year##, using any shortcode I created. I can NOT get the year in the template. The only other option is to have a javascript which I explained earlier and it’s not working either.

I ended up using the settings vs the footer template and it works in that case so it’s fine for now. Thank you
