Hi all,
I am having trouble with Twitter embeds. For some reason, they won’t show properly, instead, they will always be displayed like this: http://puu.sh/e57WT/6e5eabd384.png
I have tried many tweets from different people, however the problem persists. Newspaper didn’t have this kind of problem.
Any help is highly appreciated! 🙂
Thanks,
Lukas
Hi,
I have also tested this but haven’t found any issue’s with it. Using the embed code like this: http://screencast.com/t/pPSyDDgVN
Result: http://screencast.com/t/CjfPpQMtwU0
Please send your site’s URL so I can inspect this and also make sure that you also test this without any plugins active and that you empty cache.
Thanks
Hi Lucian,
You can find my website at http://www.iosportal.sk – here is an article where it doesn’t work: http://www.iosportal.sk/apple-podcenit-pocet-ohnutych-iphonov-viac-nez-devat/
For embed, I was only using the tweet’s link, as I know that WordPress supports it. I used the full embed code (like you did) for the very last tweet (about penguins) but it still doesn’t work. (http://puu.sh/e6h4D/2b9e2aadbb.png)
Thanks,
Lukas
Hi,
I have also tested this using your tweet link and haven’t found any issues, the tweet looks as it should: http://screencast.com/t/cNMpDFJQ3
I have also checked your site and found that you are minifying css/js which can be the cause of this and it can also be caused by other plugins so please make sure you test this without any plugins active and without any minifying options enabled and also remember to empty cache and purge files if you use any CDN hosting services.
Please let me know if you still have issues with this after doing this.
Thanks
Experiencing the same issue here. What was your solution Lukas?
Note .. some tweets won’t embed via o-embed and not sure why…
on a recent article we tried to embed two tweets, one worked “normally” (with grumpy cat), and the other we had to use embed code.
<blockquote><p>Behold The Crazy. <a href="https://twitter.com/hashtag/TedCruzCampaignSlogans?src=hash">#TedCruzCampaignSlogans</a> <a href= http://t.co/zTMfvnQPuZ">pic.twitter.com/zTMfvnQPuZ</a></p>— JustJanis (@jsavite) <a href="https://twitter.com/jsavite/status/579798118025281536 >March 23, 2015</a></blockquote> <script async src="//platform.twitter.com/widgets.js" charset="utf-8"></script>
(quotes removed around a link as forum won’t render that)
you can can see this here … normal tweet embed worked fine… the weird image discussion version with palin/cruz poster would not.
