Image resize

Hi there,
I am trying to get the images on the home page displayed correctly. The site is http://purrly.sjdesigners.com.
When I upload an image it doesn’t display very well especially in the big slide at the top. I am uploading images into the featured image section for each post.
a) Why does it not work in the slider and resize some?
b) What is the ideal dimensions for all post images to be displayed properly for the featured image (if there is one uniform size that will work that would be best)?
Regards

Hi,

unfortunately wordpress is not capable to zoom in images. You will have to upload bigger images.

We recommend that you use:
1074px x 483px – if you want to use full width layout
700px x 357px – if you want to use a layout with sidebar

Thanks for your message,

Note you can also use “thumbnail upscale” plugin to make smaller pix larger for home page; which is what I do 🙂

It basically just adds the code which WordPress omits to allow the built-in server image system (Image Magick) do the resize “up” and not just “down.”

WP folks (Automattic) “stupidly” believe upscaling is “wrong” as it makes images more fuzzy. Dumb, but that is their philosophy.
