I recently purchased this theme and my IT guy spent a weekend installing/configuring it. It’s currently active on my website, however a week after beginning use it a “Please activate the theme! – Click here to enter your code” message is appearing. Why do I need to do an additional step to activate it and will that screw with any of the settings?

Hello !
No, activating the theme will not affect your settings. If you have firstly installed a demo then you have activated the theme this happens. You don’t need to worry because activating it will not affect your theme.
