Our existing news website has 20 to 30-word excerpts attached to each story we publish, and these excerpts can be set whenever we add a new post (ie the system does not automatically pull in the first 20 words of a story to use as an excerpt – we specify what we want to appear in a separate excerpt field). We can set “screen options” in WordPress to create this excerpt field when adding new posts – but how do we display the excerpt in Newspaper?

If these Story are posts/articles then you can set theme inside the post like this in excerpt -> https://i.imgur.com/uGjKCyO.jpg (classic excerpt) on homepage you can use flex blocks and blocks to display the excerpt -> https://i.imgur.com/Vdcf2lF.png -> https://i.imgur.com/YsBo5NT.png
