Mobile Huge Nothing Space

I’m working in TD Composer. And, I have added elements to the homepage in the desktop view. https://imgur.com/a/nMboaMI There is some text below the header and some icon boxes.

Then, in the phone view, this happens https://imgur.com/a/QPircKd There’s a huge space where nothing is in there. That doesn’t look good at all.

Hi,

In order to be able to hep you I need a link to your website to can inspect the elements you have set and from where is coming that empty space.

Thank you you for your understanding!

I believe the answer is related to which elements in TD Composer are responsive. I’m trying to create a page that looks good in both desktop and phone views. What looks good in desktop does not look right in phone view. Yes, I’ve used the same line previously.

I can’t understand why this is so difficult. Either I don’t comprehend how to do it (which is very possible) or TD Composer’s capability in this area is weak – which in today’s world would be hard to believe.

So, look at the header image and text in desktop. Then, tell me what TD Composer element will serve to create the same appearance in both desktop and phone. As it is now, the desktop view and the phone view look different. I want them to look the same.

Then below that header image is some large text. Is there an element where that is scaled for phone view. Please don’t say just “yes”. I need to know what elements do that for just a text element like that line of text.

Is there no tutorial to help theme buyers create pages in TD Composer that do this? Isn’t this a super basic capability?

Hi,

You have now set 480px padding bottom on one element , if this is removed then everything is look normal -> https://i.imgur.com/IxXRxgM.png
If I’m right you want to use an image with text over, for this you can use the hero element -> https://i.imgur.com/Cn1n3qN.png remove the description and the text from buttons -> https://i.imgur.com/2N9Rdgf.png also you can remove the color to -> https://i.imgur.com/TfxkQYv.png -> https://i.imgur.com/JYBuwOK.png and this will look good on mobile too -> https://i.imgur.com/tzZ3MKa.png

hope this will help you!
Thank you!

This the page I’m working with http://dev.willtown.com/?page_id=25

I’ll reply to your previous message.

It may look more “normal” in the phone view, but it messes up the spacing in the desktop view. You have to check both. Because when you change one, the other changes.

You suggested the Hero element. On this page I’ve tried that. It’s the second image down the page. How do I make the Hero element look like the top image with text and the green box with text? And, in the phone view, it doesn’t have text. Isn’t that the point of responsive elements? Where’s the text in phone view? How can I put the green and text in the Hero element in both views – desktop and phone?

Hi,

What I mean was that you can set the padding on mobile 0 and on desktop 480px this will solved the issue.
Also on hero element the text is there, but you change the image -> https://i.imgur.com/3skffTY.png in order to be responsive the image need to be set on cover.
Or better use Image box element -> https://i.imgur.com/C6zuUcS.jpg set per viewport the image height -> https://i.imgur.com/mFFytbb.jpg -> https://i.imgur.com/NRLTkfE.png maybe this one will help you better!

Thank you!

You didn’t answer any of the second question.

“You suggested the Hero element. On this page I’ve tried that. It’s the second image down the page (in desktop). How do I make the Hero element look like the top image with text and the green box with text? And, in the phone view, it doesn’t have text. Isn’t that the point of responsive elements? Where’s the text in phone view? How can I put the green and text in the Hero element in both views – desktop and phone?”

This back and forth has taken forever. For your support to be effective, you have to answer questions COMPLETELY. I’ve been really patient about this. And, it’s become a waste of time. I purchased 4 licenses of your themes. Your “support” is driving me to purchase themes from someone else.

I’ve asked specific questions and they’re never ever never ever never ever answered. How many times does it take?

I’ve asked simple questions like, in a background image, what do the settings Cover, Contain, Repeat, and No Repeat do, related to what I’m trying to do? Guess what, no answer was provided (this is on another thread). And, this is just an example.

I just don’t have time to exchange messages and get no answers. Would you? Would you want to send messages and get no answers? Would you?

In this thread you went from suggesting Hero to Image box. How do either one of these accommodate what I want do with text on the top of an image?

Here’s what I want to do. In the header image, there are two lines of text. The bottom line of text is in a green box. This needs to look consistent in both desktop and phone views. Then, the next element below that row and background image needs to be spaced properly (maybe 30 to 50px).

Seriously, how difficult is this? This should be really really easy. And yes, I’m not a developer. But, you folks have minimal documentation. This support forum serves as your documentation.

Can you provide a complete answer and solution? My guess is you’ll refer me to your email address and waste another day of my time.

Which cloud element can create the header image with text that we’ve been messaging about?

For you to essentially say, “pick a cloud template” doesn’t help because I have no idea which one is the best choice for my header design. And, have no idea which ones are responsive.

I tried Hero. How does it accommodate a background image with 2 lines of text and one line inside of the colored box (and responsive)? That’s an incredible simple design.

I reviewed all of the Hero’s settings. Which ones do I use? Should I waste more time with trial and error?

Show me which template. Show me the settings to use. I know some already, but when I’ve made setting changes on other elements, the element or row changed unpredictably.

Making this very simple header image and text design could take days. When it should only take hours. This has been a huge waste of time.

Hi,

If you use the hero element and you don’t make any changes on the image, then this will be display resize in that way to display the text on all devices. Changing the image option for example image repeat: no repeat, tile , tile horizontally, tile vertically, and the image size: auto, cover, full width, full height, contain, I think that name of the options are say exact that these option are doing; image repeat, if the image to be repeat or not, if is no repeat will no repeat the image, if is tile, will be repeat on horizontal an vertical, tile horizontally will repeat the image only horizontally, the image will be repeat if this is smaller thee the size where should be display(in this case the screen width/wiewport), the image size ,cover -> is resize the background image to cover the entire container, even if it has to stretch the image or cut a little bit off one of the edges, contain – resize the background image to make sure the image is fully visible … also only playing with these options will learn to use theme.
To achieve what you need you can simple use these options fro the hero element -> https://i.imgur.com/TQ71hnh.png -> https://i.imgur.com/KZeGVSs.jpg ->https://i.imgur.com/1mZDecx.jpg

Also all the cloud template and pages that you can get from tagDiv Cloud Library are made to be responsive responsive for the settings with are coming, but if you change them, you can change that too, the element will still be responsive, but will not display properly.

Also please note that a cloud header will display for the entire website the image if you want to set it in a cloud header, maybe you want to use the image only in page content, for this you can choose to set the image on a row, to understand how this is working please select the cloud -> https://i.imgur.com/FZ2a9Ff.png -> https://i.imgur.com/s1rXBhc.jpg on the row is set padding top and bottom an the image -> https://i.imgur.com/B2UeJup.jpg and on mobile is adjusted -> https://i.imgur.com/wCiMs90.png inside the row can set what elements you want, in this case is a column title and an inline text.

One more time. I want to create the header image and text we’ve reviewed several times. https://imgur.com/a/MsbSMpn This needs to look properly in desktop and phone.

How is this accomplished? This is a very simple header image and text.

Yes, you recommended Hero. From what I know about it, it looks like it doesn’t do everything needed.

I DON’T HAVE TIME FOR TRIAL AND ERROR.

How do I create that header image and text to exactly as it is and have it be responsive and look right in desktop and phone??????????????

I’ve started to tell some friends how ridiculous your “support” is. You have little to no documentation, and you can’t provide adequate insight how to use your TD Composer.

This is a comedy show.

I tried Hero. In the element or cloud template I have for Hero. There is no First text or Second text. Just a Description.

Here’s the basic question. Can a cloud template with appropriate elements make the Header image and text look exactly as I had in this design https://imgur.com/a/MsbSMpn – and be responsive and look properly in both desktop and phone.

I’m assuming it can’t. And, if it could, why haven’t you provided a thorough explanation? Why??

Post count: 47

In the Hero template I used, the text appears in the Desktop, but not in the phone view. On this page https://imgur.com/a/MsbSMpn It’s the second image down the page.

There is no margin or padding added in the CSS for the phone view. And, The title text color is set to white.

If you’re going to make a recommendation, make sure it works. And, where’s the green box of text for the second line?

How many times do we have to go back and forth? This is laughably bad.

Hi,

I just provide to you until now more then one example how to do this, maybe you do not understand or maybe I can not make you to understand how to do it.
The hero element do not have two text, it have title and description and you can use these to set the two texts.
Also I provide above another solution, to set a background image on a row, set in that row the firs and second text and do not forget to set the padding on that row as in my above example and yes am sure that is working, because I just test it before I show you how to do it, maybe you are not do it in the right way.
Please note that we are here to help you not to design the website for you!
