I have been working on my website for quite a while. I would like to make a back up to be safe.
What are your recommandation to save a website made with Newspaper, in order to preserve plug in functionnalities, contents and everything if I need to restore it?

This all depends on your hosting team. Newspaper Theme is only a theme applied on wordpress. You have to backup the whole wordpress. All the changes you make are saved in the Database not in the theme folder.
As mentioned above. This is a host matter.
