How to filter search result page to show results

Please how do I filter my search result page to show searched content, it isn’t showing the searched content in results, instead it is showing latest posts

The search option comes from wordpress. After a quick google I’ve found this tutorial that might be helpful: https://wordpress.stackexchange.com/questions/271628/filter-the-query-only-for-the-search-results-page
