Hello !
Our users have had a good experience with Fast Velocity Minify plugin, But please note that this is not a tested plugin, also it doesn’t seem to be having any conflicts with Newspaper Theme.

For the google fonts I would suggest to leave them as default: https://www.screencast.com/t/O0FEL8ZFs ; I couldn’t seem to find adservice, can you provide a screenshot ?
