Show Consistance Category Level on Feature Images

Hello, all my posts have been assigned to a main category and a sub category.
Some posts are showing the main category on the feature images, some are showing the sub categories.

1) Is it possible to show all categories, in Main > Sub order?
2) Or, Can I set to show the highest level of categories only if more than 1 category is set?

I have temporarily solved the problem by swapping the main category and the sub category.

However, it will still happens if I create a new category later, when the main category is created after the sub category, it will show the sub category instead of the main one.

So I would still like to ask the 2 questions above. Thanks.

I have have set the filter to be “Travel” category on blocks.
This does not only happens on index page, also in category page: https://seablue.hk/category/travel/

And to explain more, here are the category tree:

TRAVEL
– Japan*
– – Tokyo
– – Fukuoka
– Taiwan*
– -Taipei
– -TaiChung
– -Nantou
– Vietnam*
– -Ho Chi Minh City
– England*
– – London
– China*
– – Shan Tou
– – Macau
– Korea*
– – Seoul

All posts are assigned to 2 category, 1 country category, and 1 city category, i.e. Japan & Fukuoka

However, The category box on the feature images shows Japan, Taiwan, Vietnam, China correctly, but some post only shows Nantou, Taichung (as shown on the abovee image), which is the sub category of Taiwan, and I want them to show Taiwan only.
