Managing non-adsense ads

Hi all,

Complete noob here, so please go easy on me!

I’m creating my first news website after having worked in editorial roles for years for other companies but am now setting up on my own. The editorial content is no problem, I can do that in my sleep, but I’m no techie so setting up the site and the ads that I’ll monetise the site with is a challenge.

I won’t be using adsense, rather I’ll be selling ad space to advertisers directly. Of course, they’ll want to see stats from their banners as time goes by, so is there something within Newspaper that gives me this info or do I need a plugin? If I need a plugin, do I then ignore the ads function on the theme panel and simply use the plugin for placing new leaderboards, sidebar squares etc? Which plugin is best for these specific requirements?

That partly answers my question, but I also want to know if there is a function within Newspaper that allows me to schedule new ads and also track their performance, CTR etc.
