I have added my page description of the various sections but they don’t show up in google search. for instance when I search my page NetSportWorld I get the results of my posts shown in the picture https://imgur.com/cF4RFbk instead of page description.
Similarly when I search the category of NetSportWorld livescore I am getting https://imgur.com/Vx4JBOS which again doesn’t bring the description but rather showing archives wording in addition to things in the post
How do I fix this. I want the description I provide to show
My website url is https://www.netsportworld.com

Hi @dessy1991
You can achieve this by adding your description in the Yost SEO plugin’s Meta description in Page editor/Post editor.

I hope you will find this helpful.

How do I do this. thanks
Hello !
Please note that for this it is recommended a Seo plugin and also most of this is up to google if they want to have your content displayed like that. You can contact SEO Yoast plugin support and see if they offer any option for this but still this is up to Google.
Thank you !
concerning my initial enquiry about my page descriptions not showing up. I have applied the changes as suggested and it still hasn’t changed after 2 days as you can see. https://imgur.com/cqDgYyP
This is how I applied the changes

is there something I am missing?
my website: https://www.netsportworld.com/category/home/
Hi,
In order to have control over the meta description you can use the Yoast SEO plugin as Amit suggested :
-> How to create the right meta description -> https://yoast.com/meta-descriptions/
-> Yoast SEO assessment: Meta description -> https://yoast.com/wordpress/plugins/seo/meta-description-length-check/
As I seen in your screend you did this part.
Now you need to re-index your website, for this you could try a request to Google to recrawl and reindex your URL
– https://support.google.com/webmasters/answer/6065812 this can take some time -> https://support.google.com/programmable-search/thread/5411247?hl=en
Also our theme do not control the results from google https://imgur.com/e0stPDJ to can display the sitelinks, you need to find another way to display the sitelinks, maybe use a plugin, unfortunately I don’t know what plugin you can use for that. Maybe you can find more information in this topic
