Need help getting google ads to show

Hi,

I know there have been many posts already in this forum about google ads not showing, but I can’t seem to find a solution that works for me.

I have this site, https://balita.ph, an ancient site that I just converted to the Newspaper theme. So, needless to say, the site has been showing ads before switching to the Newspaper theme. I pasted the Adsense code (not an auto ad) in the Theme Panel -> Ads -> Header section, and nothing is showing up. I also tried a sidebar one, which I removed since it wasn’t working either—no messages in the console. When I view the page source and search for ‘adsbygoogle,’ there’s nothing in there. So, it’s almost like the code is just being ignored. I’ve also disabled any adblockers running, btw.

And here’s my adsense code:
<script async src=”https://pagead2.googlesyndication.com/pagead/js/adsbygoogle.js”></script&gt;
<!– Balita Ads –>
<ins class=”adsbygoogle”
style=”display:block”
data-ad-client=”ca-pub-XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX”
data-ad-slot=”8085303186″
data-ad-format=”auto”
data-full-width-responsive=”true”></ins>
<script>
(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({});
</script>

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Best,
Celso

Hello !

From what I personally know you will need to re-test your website on Google’s end. Before placing ads they require a code to verify your website. Have you made that step first ?

Thank you !

Hi Vlad, thank you for your response.

When you said “re-test the website on Google’s end,” is that the one where they had us add a text file on the website’s root? If so, then, yes, I have done that. Also, the site is indicating ‘Ready’ on google’s AdSense ads overview.

What is puzzling to me is that if I search for ‘adsbygoogle’ from my pages’ source, I don’t see anything. Or even the comment ‘<!– Balita Ads –>’ is not there. Which seems to me that the code is not being inserted at all?

Oh, and one more piece of information, if I use auto-ads, I get served with ads. Which further tells me that my site is all set from Google’s end. But I don’t want to use the auto-ads because I didn’t particularly appreciate where they’re placing the ads.

Hello !

Please add an AdBox element in your header and insert the code there too: https://prnt.sc/viidyd

Let us know the results !

Thank you !

Thank you so much, Vlad! That works! So I miss the part that I still need to add the Adbox to the header section.
