"There has been a critical error on your website." when viewing desktop

Hello,

My site was working fine until Friday last week: when I click on a post, I get a page that says “There has been a critical error on your website.”

This only happens when I try to view it on a desktop. When I’m on mobile (and when I’m viewing the mobile theme) it works just fine. The homepage itself, and my About Us and Contact pages, also work fine on desktop – it’s just the posts page that’s broken.

Maybe I messed up the Posts page? Is there a way that I can “reinstall” this, or maybe code that I can copy onto it?

thanks!

Hello !

You will have to first start looking for a plugin conflict. please deactivate ALL plugins except tagDiv ones, also if you are using child theme or cache plugin, deactivate them, clear all cache and try again.

Also you can try and remove and re-install the tagDiv Composer plugin.

Let us know the results.

Thank you !

The plugin deactivating worked! Was having an issue with the “Disqus Conditional Load” plugin which I need for Disqus to work… is there any other way I can load Disqus comments? The “Disqus For WordPress” plugin doesn’t work with Newspaper too.

Hello !

Unfortunately Disqus is known to be a trouble maker in the past too. This unfortunately is not covered by the Newspaper Theme support team. You can contact our custom work team to see if they can adapt the plugin to the theme but this will be over a fee: https://tagdiv.com/web-development-services/

Thank you !

Any idea when the team will fix this? The Disqus plugins work with hundreds of other themes, but no longer Newspaper (it did previously).

Hello !

Unfortunately at the moment there is no resolution on this for the future.

Thank you !

Thanks for the reply.

Is this on any roadmap? For me and I think many, it’s a real blocker. Both Newspaper and Disqus are quite popular, so it is disappointing that the theme and plugins do not work together. The Universal Code is a mere work around.

Hello !

Unfortunately at the moment there is no workaround this. I will let our developers know about it maybe they can take a look but at the moment I cannot promise anything.

Thank you !
