I really want to add the ticker on top of my site.
WE use a static home page organized in blocks etc. There are 4 sections, one for the articles (sorted by recent) and 3 other for articles with additional categories (e.g. “insights”, “sticky” , “knowledge base”).
To avoid duplicates the page is set as UNIQUE ARTICLES.
The problem is that if I add the ticker with the todays news, the subsequent section, coherently with the setting, does not show the news of today. We don’t want this, since we want the ticker to not affect the rest of the page.
Is there a way to achieve this? The best would be to provide to each section (or to each block) the uniqueness:on-off property + a priority propery so to make a preference in case of redundancy between the other sections.
Is there such a possibility, or suggested workarounds?

Unfortunately the ticker is also taken into consideration when using the unique articles feature, we have this on our todo list and we are working to find a better implementation regarding this.
A solution would be not to use the unique articles feature and configure your blocks not to show duplicated posts by using block filters, sort order or the offset feature: http://screencast.com/t/DseVP3MRnPE2
