It looks like your images don’t even get loaded into the media library: https://snipboard.io/UGnoQH.jpg Are they the right format ? Also make sure that there is no plugin that interferes with this issue.

Yes, the pictures are in the correct format. I have also deactivated all plugins (except tagdiv plugins) to see it the issue gets sorted out. But, thumbnails still do not appear. Even if I choose a picture uploaded earlier that appears in the media library, the new posts’ featured image does not appear in the thumbnails.
