I would like a way to filter the posts in the top section of our website so that:
big picture: category cover
medium picture: most recent category news (unless the most recent news is the cover, then with an offset of 1)
small pictures: most recent category news with an offset of one (unless the most recent news is the cover, then an offset of 2)
What we currently have allows for posts to repeat in this section if the cover is also the most recent news story.

If I understood it correctly, a solution could be to use the unique article option, follow this guide: https://forum.tagdiv.com/unique-articles/
This option automatically removes duplicate posts from the page.
