Hello. Two question here.
1.Is there a way to use slides, generated with revolution slider, as ads? Or at least to show small 300X300px animated slides with link in the main page and not as post or pages?
2.Is there a way to update Revolution slider, or I have to buy the license?

Hello !
1. Unfortunately you cannot add URL to your slides in order to have those elements as ads. You can use the revolution slider element and design them as ads if you want.
2. Every Newspaper Theme release comes with latest Revolution slider version. The Revolution slider is included in a bundle and you don’t have to buy the version.
