page/2/ page/3 etc

Hi I am getting extra pages crawled that should not exist. This is causing breadcrumb warnings from Google Search Console.

The pages are http://www.advisorworld.com/page/2/ and page/3. The breadcrumb error goes away when I disable Yoast Plugin.

But I am sure that is not really addressing the whole issue, Why am I getting these extra pages I can’t find any links to them in the source code. They are just duplicates to the homepage.

In my experience these issues happen when Yoast is updated and Google happens to crawl. I still get the ‘unable to index page due to robots.txt’ error with Yoast for stuff like /site/wp-admin/index.php — which Google is too stupid after 17 years to know not to index the admin folder for wp-admin. I usually just hit the repair or whatever button in email, then do the view page, and that usually clears it as no such page. This is one of several random search console issues you can kind of avoid. Stupidly, Yoast used to have a ‘change number of xxx per page’ in sitemap, which you could change (e.g., from 1000 to 999) and this would force Google to revisit your sitemap stuff — now, you kind of just have to do ‘resubmit sitemap’ from console to clean house periodically. At least that has been my experience. 🙂 ((I don’t work here.))

Hi @gweston2021, what @simchris say it can help, but also there can be other cases, as I can see you are using the mobile theme plugin and this has pagination -> https://i.imgur.com/qX5w4ut.png therefore this can be another situation why the /page/2 page/3 are indexed. For desktop you do not have a pagination, therefore all the results will be to homepage, but on mobile this will be different.
Thank you!
