Hi,
Usually, this kind of code is provided by google console accounts and it need to be set between head tags -> https://i.imgur.com/GJgee7S.png

If the code need to be set between:
</body>
…..code
</html>
then you need to set it manually in theme files, and this is not recommended.
If this is not what you mean, please let me know!
