Changing Tagline Font Size

Hi there,

I’ve searched previous articles and found that the most recent instructions for changing the font size of the tagline are from 2017, and some articles that are used for instructions are missing.

I did try to implement the CSS as instructed to change the tagline font size, but nothing seems to work on refresh or preview. I tried clearing my cache and reloading after saving the change in the Theme Panel Custom CSS. This was the code I was using to test it:

.td-tagline-text{
font-size:3em;
}

What am I doing wrong here?

Thanks,

Karin

Hello,

Please let me know how you set the tagline.
If you use a standard template, you can set the font size from Theme Panel -> Theme Fonts -> Header => https://i.imgur.com/2y5vGQo.png if you have a cloud template, you need to edit with tagDiv Composer, select the logo and set the font size like this => https://i.imgur.com/bEKETfK.png

Thank you!

Hi there,

The tagline is default in the Newspaper theme. I cannot access either of the ways you set out here unfortunately.

It seems to be neither a cloud template or a standard template. Under template it says “No template” and there are no other options in that dropdown.

When I try to edit in tagDvi, there is no way to select the header to edit. When I go to the Theme Panel, there is no section for “Header” under Theme Fonts…

Hi kjervert, so you are using standard templates. Therefore, you must have activate the tagDiv Composer and tagDiv Standard Pack https://i.imgur.com/KMF0amL.png then in theme panel theme fonts under the header section the tagline text will be display https://i.imgur.com/Qv8oveq.png and the results will be https://i.imgur.com/x9pljUq.png
I hope this will help you!
Let us know the results!

Thank you so much for these instructions, they have been really helpful. I think I’m getting closer.

The header did disappear tho when I activated the standard pack. But, the good news is the header font option has materialized in the theme panel. So that’s promising.

I played around selecting different header styles, as there is no header template to choose from and creating a cloud template and selecting that. But no luck in making the header re-appear.

Any thoughts?

Thanks again for your help.

Hello,

Please send screenshots with what you see in the theme panel, to be able to help you.
Normally, if you have the standard pack plugin activated the header style well should display like this => https://i.imgur.com/Qv6sO9u.png
Also, if you previously had a cloud header, please go to the homepage and edit with tagDiv Composer, select the Manager (Website Manager) please check if you don’t have set “No Header” => https://i.imgur.com/f9dkBqJ.png

Thank you!

Alright! I got the header on the homepage and changed the tagline font as you instructed here! yay!

I think I only have one last question related to this matter: I can not figure out how to get the header on the pages and posts, somehow that is not happening. I do not have the “edit in tagDIV” option on the posts and pages as I have on the homepage.

Also, strangely, a lot of my setting in the theme panel do not seem to be connected/reflecting on my site. AKA, when I make changes (such as hiding the author box) I do not see that happening after I hit save.

Thanks again for all your help here. I appreciate it!

Unfortunately, this site is a site associated with the organization I work for, and is behind a password which I am not sure I should give out here.

Is there any way I can offer screenshots or the like to help illuminate the problem?

Thanks again,
Karin
