Why do posts show underneath eachother instead of next to eachother?

Hi,

I’ve addded block 5 to my homepage and given it 3/4 width. The block is meant to show 4 posts in a square, but somehow, no matter how wide I make it, it keeps showing the posts underneath eachother. What am I doing wrong here?

My website is http://www.anamsterdamlocal.com

Hope anyone can help because I’m getting more and more frustrated 😉

Many thanks!

Hi,

Newsmag theme was designed in 3 columns fixed grid, so the blocks are recommended to be used 1/1 – 1/3 + 1/3 + 1/3, or 2/3 + 1/3 like you can also see in backend when you split the row(are colored blue): http://screencast.com/t/ApuMgUzYb2vH Please also take a look on our demo how blocks are used: http://screencast.com/t/eIECvaw8pSShttp://demo.tagdiv.com/newsmag/block-5/
You can also split row like you like, but not all blocks will work fine. If you split row to 2/3 + 1/3 you will get this result: http://screencast.com/t/LZ0jhfb9lsLbhttp://screencast.com/t/AapsVsShraw

Hope this helps!

Not sure if my reply went through.. I still don’t really get how I can get my posts in block 5 to show next to instead of underneath eachother. When I change to a 2/3 – 1/3 split they’re still underneath eachother? I want them to be shown in two columns like in your block 5 example.

Also, why are the margins to the right and left of my website so large? It seems like half of the screen isn’t being used, while in your demos the margins are a lot smaller?

Sorry, I’m a real WP newbie, many thanks for your help!

Shit, sorry, it must be something to do with my laptop. I just checked on another laptop and block 5 seems to work fine now! Do you have any idea whether it’s the settings on my laptop that make the margins this big and the posts not show next to each other?

Many thanks!!

I think there is a known issue with some blocks when you use the “zoom” function in some web browsers, but not all. I noticed this with one block when zoom was at 95% for some oddball reason in Chrome on my MacBook pro.

Hi,

Like Christopher said please check your browser zoom as we have a problem with it and we try to find a solution for this issue: http://screencast.com/t/hnWxlOR58wFhttp://screencast.com/t/bYrDwvwPqbk

Sorry for inconvenience and thanks for the message!

Haha, yep when I zoom in the posts are shown next to eachother! Didn’t think it would be this easy! Thanks for your help, hope the problem gets sorted soon.

Many thanks!~
