Is there anyway, I could implement Google search instead of using the default search of theme?
Also, why does the Google search widget not work with this theme? This search page doesnt show anything at all even for valid queries.(Not sure if it has entirely to do with theme though).

You could try to replace the code following this topic: https://forum.tagdiv.com/topic/replace-default-search-with-google/
Not sure why the widget don’t work, you can try this without any plugins active leave only Visual Composer and search plugin active, clear cache and check if this works.
