11.3.1 update crashes site – TagDiv, please respond

TagDiv, please explain how to update to Newspaper 11.3.1 without everything turning to code. No one has responded to an earlier post about this issue. What could be causing that? We want to update due to any security improvements, but it crashes the site. Thank you in advance.

Upgrading to PHP 8.0 worked to update the theme. Please update your requirement section if possible when you make a major release change; it still says 7.2. Thanks!
