I would like to modify the excerpt to pull from a different portion of a post. Is that possible on the front or back end or through coding?

Hi jtoney,
The excerpt is getting the content from the beginning of posts, but this is only if there is no text set in the excerpt zone -> https://i.imgur.com/BLvoT6p.jpg
Those are the only options that our theme has.
