Can you please help me to turn this thing off? This disturbs a lot while working. Further, this thing wasn’t present before but it appeared few days back. I have the newspaper theme fully updated and don’t know where to turn this off.

Hi,
That “P” is displaying only in backend when you use the classic editor? or is also display on frontend and in Gutenberg editor? If is display, then please provide a link to your website to inspect it.
If is only in the classic editor, then it can be an option or a conflict between plugins.
